Furniture Wood
Other than shellacking, how can I eliminate the stench from the wood furniture I bought from smokers?

I have cleaned w/soap, water, pledge, tsp and essential oils. I have burned scented candles, incense and left Arm & Hammer baking soda inside it. Nothing works, and shellack is ugly. What can I do other to rid the stale smoke smell from the wood furniture, please?

This is a good news bad news answer. Bad news is that your initial cleaning with soap and water may have ‘locked’ the smoke smell into the piece. Good news is that you may be able to rent an Ozone Generator or find a local Smoke odor removal company in your area who will site the item in a closed room with an ozone generator running. Ozone generators, approx the size of a bookshelf speaker, emit an o-3 molecule which in turn neutralizes the cabon based smoke smell. Ozone’s smell is similar to the air right after a lightning storm. Ozone is commonly used in hospitals and in the restoration of fire damaged homes. Run the ozone generator for 3 days with the item exposed to the ozone. A garage would be great for this purpose. Some persons may be sensitive to ozone so before a room is re-occupied by inhabitants unplug the Ozone Generator and stay out of the room for 15-20mins after the ozone generator is cut off. Good luck!
